Hello….

So it has been a while since I have written.  I have started my project 365 and that takes a lot of my blogging time.  I thought I should update over here though, so here goes.

Timothy is almost seven months old now.  We go to court in a few weeks and we will see if Teela and Alex get more time or if the court has decided that they are out of time.  Timothy sits up on his own now and rolls all over the place.  He is also getting up on all fours and really trying to crawl.  He definitely is into everything that he can reach.  He is such a delightful  baby.

Savannah is now a year old.  She is growing and climbing and such a monkey.  She provides lots of entertainment and keeps us on our toes.  She has recently started walking in small amounts and I am sure it won’t be long before she is running all over the place.  She is also learning how to go down the stairs backwards on her tummy.  There isn’t much that we can keep her out of now.

Dietrich will be three in five days and I can’t believe how much he is like a kid now.  The time flies so quickly.  He goes to his “school”  once a week and we have playgroup once a week so he gets to play with other kids his own age.  He is very into boy stuff, but still loves to dress up in Evelyn’s princess clothes.  He is a riot.

Evelyn is doing very well in kindergarten.  She loves school and really enjoys her class.  She has made lots of friends and even thinks that she has a boyfriend.  I can’t believe it’s starting already.  She is a very social person and really enjoys getting positive attention.  She is learning how to read and write and is getting to be pretty good at it.  She is one smart cookie.

Devan is entering his busy season for Starfleet, the Wilson show choir.  He has lots of shows in Feb. and March.  He really enjoys it and is good at it.  I hope he will continue for high school.  His grades are doing okay.  The big news though is that he is now 14 and has gotten his permit.  Scary thought, I have a son old enough to learn how to drive.

So that is what is happening in our neck of the woods.  We are experiencing below zero temps with lots of snow, so we are staying inside.  I hope that everyone had a good holiday and is safe and warm.

Savannah’s trip to Iowa City

So we had Savannah’s appointments in Iowa City today.  First, she had to have an IV put in.  They used this wonderful numbing cream though, so she did really well.  Then she had a renal scan done.  They injected into her IV some radioactive fluid and placed  her under a gamma camera.  For thirty minutes, it took pictures of her kidneys and bladder.  Then she was suppose to pee, but she refused to.  After about twenty minutes of no peeing, the doctor decided that her test looked well enough that she didn’t have to pee. Next, we went to consult with a pediatric urologist.  He said that everything looks fine!  YEA!!!!  So no more tests or doctor appointments unless she starts having problems.  We are so happy and thankful that we have come to such a great conclusion in this journey.

Great Weekend!

The weather here this weekend was beautiful!  We took full advantage of it and went to the Tanger Outlet mall on Saturday to start our Christmas shopping.  We also took the kids to the park and let them run wild.  Savannah played on the playground equipment for the first time.  It was so cute to watch her crawl across the bridge and up the stairs.  She loved going down the slide, with someone of course.

On Sunday, Jessie tackled the big leaf mess in our front yard and the kids played in the resulting mountain of leaves.100_2995.JPGSavannah is in the mix here too, hidden by Devan.

Crazy few weeks

So the past few weeks have been a bit crazy.   The Saturday before Halloween, Jessie left to go to Texas to visit his momma and his best friend, and to do a little bit of training for work.  He got back on Wednesday night, just in time for the trunk or treat at church.  Friday morning he flew to New York City to get some machinery that was broken and bring it back.  Saturday, Halloween, he got home and done with work just in time for us to take the kids trick or treating.  I was also sick on Saturday.  Sunday and Monday Jessie was sick.  Tuesday and Thursday Devan had music concerts at school.  Wednesday Jessie was sick again,  and then on Thursday night I had my relief society meeting, formerly enrichment.  We have been on the go so much lately that I am feeling really out of energy.  Hopefully today we will be able to just relax and take it easy.

Evelyn’s birthday!!

Evelyn is 5 now.  She had her golden birthday this year.  To celebrate, we took her and some of her friends to see G-force in 3-D.   It was a lot of fun, except the chasing Dietrich part.  She also got cupcakes and presents.  It was a fun day all around.

Hanging out

The weather here had been kind of crazy lately.  It has been cold and rainy so often that when there is a nice day, we do our best to take advantage.  A few weeks ago, we had one such day and I took this picture that I just wanted to share.  Two of my favorite guys just chilling on the front porch.

Dietrich’s school

On September 8, Dietrich started going to Parents’ Day Out(PDO) or as he calls it, his school.  He is in a class with 10 other kids his age and he has a lot of fun.  It is only once a week for 4 hours, but it is such a nice  break for me.  He makes a new craft every week and eats lunch there.  He loves that he has his own spiderman lunch bag and looks like such a big boy carrying it.  He is such a social child that he needed something like this so that he wouldn’t drive mom crazy.  With this, playgroup on Thursdays, and the babysitting I do on Fridays and Saturdays, he has a good balance of home and activities.  He is really starting to make friends and it won’t be long before he is bugging me for playdates with his friends and not just who I think it would  be fun to hang out with.

Savannah in the hospital!

On August 20, Nicole and I went to the Sugarland/Keith Urban concert in Cleveland, Ohio.  We left the kids with our husbands and had a great time.  The next day as we were driving home, Jessie called to say that Savannah was sick and he needed to know how much Tylenol to give her.  She spent the whole weekend throwing up and running a high temp.  We took her into the doctor on Monday, thinking that she had the flu.  They ran some tests and it turned out that she had a bladder infection that had most likely progressed to a kidney infection.  We were taken to the hospital immediately.

Savannah had to get an IV that night and was not happy about it.  Overall though, she was in a very good mood.  The next day was Evelyn’s first day of school.  Talk about a bitter sweet day.  They did an ultrasound on Savannah’s kidneys and they saw some fluid up by her kidneys that had them concerned.  Savannah really started to feel better that night and was so frustrated that we couldn’t let her crawl around because of her IV.  The next day, the doctor said that as long as her temp stayed below 100.5 degrees, we could go home that night.  Such great news.  They medlocked her IV which let her crawl around to play and the day passed quickly.  At supper time, we were able to bring her home.  YEA!!!!

A few weeks later, we had to take in for a VCUSG???.  Basically they put a catheder in, shot some dye into her bladder, and waited for her to pee, all while doing X-rays to track the dye.  This was to see if she had reflux that was causing her pee to travel back up to the kidneys.  Thankfully the test didn’t last long as we had to hold her still the entire time.  So not fun!  The test results were normal.  They also did another ultrasound on her kidneys and that same fluid is still there.  So now we get to go to a specialist down at the University of Iowa next month.  I will keep you posted.

Evelyn’s first day of school!

So Evelyn started school on Tuesday, August 25.  She is officially a kindergartener now.  She loves it.  She is at Grant School, which is where she went to preschool at, so she already knows the building and a lot of the staff.  She is very excited about eating lunch in the cafeteria with the big kids.  She also loves that she gets to stay all day.  Here is a picture of her on her first day.

The Beach

We went to the beach yesterday.  It was Savannah’s first time at the beach and of course we forgot the camera.  It was a nice 80 some degrees out, so we thought the water would be nice.  Nah, it was pretty cold.  I was so sure that Savannah was going to scream as soon as we put her in it, but she loved it.  She laughed and played, even when she got cold.  She also really enjoyed snuggling in her towel afterwards.

Devan and Jessie did the typical let’s dunk each other game and Jessie won.  Not sure he will much longer though, Devan is getting rather large and strong.  Evelyn tried out her new swimming skills and while she is not a swimmer yet, she is definitely making progress.  Dietrich just had a blast playing, although he did get cold really fast.  Overall, it was a fun way to end the day.

In other news, Evelyn starts kindergarten in 20 days and turns 5 in 1 month.  Oh where does the time go?  Dietrich got into Parents’ Day out, which will allow me one morning every week to only have the babies at home.  I am really looking forward to it and I know Dietrich will have a blast.

Anyways, supper is done, so I will go eat.  Check back later for more news.
